Grants and Incentives Offered

Feed In Tariff (FIT)

In April 2010 the government introduced a Feed In Tariff scheme where owners of systems that generate electricity from renewable energy sources will be paid for every kilo-watt-hour(kWh)of energy that is generated. Typically the revenue from electricity generation will be paid to you quarterly via your energy supplier. The rate at which you are paid is fixed for a period of 20 years from the time you start generating electricity. The Feed In Tariff payment is indexed linked and tax free, so not only will you be able to make some clean energy cash you will be helping to reduce your carbon emissions.

RenewFeed and Tariff incentivesable Heat Incentive (RHI)

Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme is similar to the solar PV Feed In Tariff (FIT), except that instead of being paid to generate electricity, payments are made for generating heat. Phase 1 of the Renewable Heat Incentive RHI was introduced in 2011 and phase 2 in April 2014.
Phase 1 applies to industrial, commercial, public sector, not-for-profit organisations and communities. It applies for any eligible systems installed since 15th July 2009.
Phase 2 is for the domestic sector and applications for the RHI can be made from April 2014.
