Colin Poulter is an electrical and electronic Chartered Engineer and co-founder of Green Systems Engineering, where he blends technical precision with strategic vision and a deep commitment to sustainability. With over 30 years’ experience, he has delivered impactful solutions across both domestic and commercial sectors.
Holding a BEng (Hons) and professional accreditation through the IET, Colin sets exacting standards in every project. His expertise in solar PV and battery storage is underpinned by direct experience working for leading inverter and battery manufacturers. His contributions have shaped product design, regulatory pathways, and performance strategies across the UK giving him a rare inside-out insight into how these systems are best tailored to customer needs.
Colin is passionate about delivering smart, low-carbon energy solutions that work in the real world—carefully tailored to each client’s budget, property, and practical needs.
Giles Clempson
Director & Principal Engineer
Giles Clempson is the co-founder of Green Systems Engineering, bringing over 20 years of expertise in the renewable energy sector. Beginning his career as a qualified electrician, Giles later specialized in controls engineering, where he discovered his passion for sustainable technologies. This path led him to focus on the design, installation, and commissioning of advanced heat pump systems for both domestic and commercial applications.
Known for his hands-on approach, Giles continues to enjoy working closely with clients, ensuring that every project is delivered with professionalism, precision, and care. His dedication to quality and innovation has earned him a strong reputation for providing reliable, high-standard solutions across diverse environments.
Driven by a clear mission to create sustainable outcomes, Giles is committed to advancing renewable energy technologies that benefit clients, strengthen communities, and protect the planet for future generations.
James Bush
Non-Executive Director – Business Development
James brings with him a wealth of experience in the construction sector, having held a number of senior management and board-level roles over the past 25 years. This includes 11 years at the National House Building Council (NHBC), where he was part of the Executive Management team, and roles as Managing Director of MDIS Group (Premier Guarantee and LABC Warranty). Most recently, James joined MA Group in 2017 to establish New Homes Customer Care (NHCC), where he held dual roles as Chief Commercial Officer of MA Group and Managing Director of NHCC. James is currently a Non-Exec Director and Chair of the Board at Q Assure, and a Non-Exec Director at Capital Services Kings Langley.
His experience and insight will be an invaluable asset to GSE as we continue to grow.
